New Middle Grade Nature Fantasy

Immerse yourself in the world of Tusk.

Life on the Arctic ice is changing, setting the stage for a thrilling tale of survival, family, and the clash between wild nature and human influence in this new novel from Peter Gentzler.

In the chilling aftermath of a fractured ice sheet during a seal hunt, twin polar bear cubs, Chulyin and Noahh, are torn from their family. Noahh, the more diffident of the two, wakes to find himself a captive of the embittered and scarred walrus, Septimius Rex, King of New Sparta. Rex, who harbors a deep hatred for polar bears, weaves Noahh into a sinister game, offering tempting gifts in exchange for a dark contract with Man.

Meanwhile, Chulyin, the untamed twin, faces his own dilemma. He returns to his pregnant mother's snow den, torn between searching for his lost family and ensuring the survival of his mother and her unborn cub. Guided by a wise yet cynical wolf named Calchus, Chulyin's fate becomes intertwined with visions of a mysterious island and an uncertain destiny.

As the twins navigate the brutal Arctic landscape, they encounter allies and adversaries, eventually reuniting on New Sparta. Here, they must confront their loyalties and convictions in a showdown between the ways of the wild and the encroaching world of Man, a battle that will determine the fate of Septimius Rex's kingdom.
